About the Kāpiti Coast

Located just 55 kilometres north of Wellington, New Zealand’s capital, the Kāpiti Coast is renowned for its relaxed beachfronts, abundant cafés and restaurants, quirky galleries, and magnificent reserves. This is the land of Māori chief Te Rauparaha and home to the iconic Kāpiti Island – a region where small-town charm blends with creative, city-savvy food culture.

About the Author – Joanna Piatek

Joanna Piatek MNZIPP (dist.) is the founder of Captured by Friday Photography and the creative force behind SagaFare. Her love for food, Kāpiti, its people, and photography inspired this project. Raised in Sweden with Polish heritage, Joanna now calls Kāpiti home and has dedicated herself to showcasing regional New Zealand through the universal language of food.
